A pilot proposed by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation would give Boston drivers who avoid rush hour traffic at least a 25% discount on tolls. The program, which would cover the Boston Harbor tunnels, the Massachusetts Turnpike and the Tobin Bridge, is subject to gubernatorial approval.

A report by Sam Schwartz Engineering has found that implementing a two-way toll on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge could reduce the number of vehicles on roads in Lower Manhattan by 137 per hour. The study also projects that a combination of two-way tolling and a congestion-pricing program could reduce traffic by 337 vehicles per hour on Houston, Watts and Canal streets.
Toll collection in India in the 2017-2018 financial year grew by 18% over the previous year, the government reported. Rajasthan generated the most toll revenue, followed by Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, the government added.

The Active Traffic Management system in Fairfax County, Va., is turning off its capability to open an extra lane between Virginia 123 and the Capital Beltway on Interstate 66. The technology is being retired to launch construction to build two high-occupancy vehicle lanes between the Capital Beltway and Gainesville, Va.
Thirty-nine states have pursued 209 funding bills for transportation so far this year while federal infrastructure funding continues to be considered, says the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. "We believe a permanent fix to the [highway] trust fund should be the cornerstone of any major infrastructure package," says ARTBA Chairman Matt Cummings.
