The $126.2 million Lindale Relief Route on Toll 49 in Texas was originally scheduled to be completed in 2019, but the North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority now says the project will be finished in October. Weather conditions have been favorable for work on the 6.7-mile extension, and the contractor has had extra workers and subcontractors on the project.
Oregon transportation officials are trying to implement congestion pricing, but the Portland Tribune editorial board writes that a ballot measure that would require voter approval of any tolling that does not solely improve capacity "is one way to kill the idea." The editorial board argues that congestion pricing can expand capacity by changing driving patterns.
The Palm Tran Connection bus service in Florida is spending $1,200 to outfit its fleet with transponders so the vehicles can use Florida's Turnpike. The move is expected to allow the buses to take more efficient routes.
The use of transponders at Indian toll booths has led to a 24% jump in toll revenue, a government official announced. Around 770,000 transponders were in use in India as of December, and 417 of the country's 440 toll plazas can accept payments via transponders.
The Michigan Department of Transportation said tolls on the International Bridge will go up 10 cents if paid in Canadian currency. Adjustments to the bridge's toll rates can occur after reviews each April and October if US and Canadian currency values have changed.

The Seattle City Council has approved agreements to allow Oak View Group to tear down most of Seattle's KeyArena and build a $700 million facility that could serve as the home arena for future Seattle NHL and NBA teams. OVG wants to keep the facility's roof intact as it creates new arena that would accommodate up to 19,000 people.
